One of my main specialisms and something I have been doing for over 20 years is coaching people through career change. I have extensive, training in career counselling and career coaching in particular, specialist training in helping people navigate and achieve career change.
Career change can be daunting and people often come to me after thinking about changing careers for several years. Sadly, some people also come to me after already spending thousands on unqualified and inexperienced coaches who lacked the necessary specialist training in career change coaching.
Changing careers is a big life change but working with a qualified, registered and experienced career coach will ensure your career transition is a smooth and successful one.
When Justine came to me for career change coaching, she confessed she'd been stuck in a rut for over 5 years constantly day dreaming of the day she would be doing something different. Justine had spent 16 years working as a corporate lawyer and realised she had made a mistake quite early in her career but felt embarrassed to tell her family and friends. Instead, she carried on pretending to love her job when deep inside most days were a complete struggle. Once Justine had made the decision to take action and find a more fulfilling career, she found me and we started working together. Using some specific career development tools, Justine was able to recognise all the amazing transferable skills and talents she had and we identified her areas of interest and true passions. One of these was the environment. We explored options, identified the most viable opportunities that could capitalise on her skills, strengths, interests and motivations. We developed a career action plan that saw her transition to an incredible new career as a Sustainability Consultant. Justine now says she has never been happier.
If you are facing challenges at work, it can be helpful to work with a trained and experienced career coach. Whether your challenge relates to well-being, performance or any other issue, coaching can help you gain clarity and develop solutions to boost your job satisfaction, happiness and well-being at work. As a strengths based, solution focused coach, I partner with you to recognise your strengths, build resilience and thrive personally and professionally.
Kelvin came to career coaching looking for coaching to increase assertiveness at work. He'd been working for the same company since graduating university and felt that his manager kept him pigeon-holed into doing the same role forever. Kelvin was understandably frustrated and even though he was consistently achieving incredible success in his role, he wasn't being promoted into a higher level role with more responsibility and the higher salary he wanted and deserved. Through career coaching we were able to identify the value of his contributions, his skills and strengths. We built a portfolio which he took to his next career development planning meeting. His manager was impressed by how assertive and proactive Kelvin had become. Within just 3 months of us working together, Kelvin was invited to interview for a higher level role within his department. After some interview coaching his confidence was boosted which resulted in him being selected to be a key part of a new and exciting project that was engaging, financially rewarding and fulfilling.
Aside from coaching people to achieve successful traditional careers, for many years I’ve also coached entrepreneurs, freelancers and digital nomads. In addition to first-hand experience (being self-employed for nearly 20 years), I am trained in business and entrepreneur coaching up to master’s level, have a diploma in business management and am currently a doctoral researcher at Tampere University’s Faculty of Social Sciences (Psychology) researching flow-state and entrepreneur well-being and performance.
Joel had been unhappy at work for a number of years before he reached out to me for career coaching. At the age of 39 he had already accomplished so much and had a master's degree in international development. Through his work, Joel had lived and worked in five countries, gaining insights into some of the most pressing issues facing society and governments around the world. Due to funding cuts to the international development organisation he had been working with, Joel started to think about transitioning to a self-employed International Development Consultant. Together we envisaged what this could look like, did some feasibility activities and designed a transition and business plan to take his consultancy forward. Within a few months, Joel had successfully gained his first client and was working on developing the other phases of his business plan.

Aside from all of my credentials, what I offer is a genuine level of care and support. I have dedicated my career to supporting people to live their best lives – to honour their true selves. It’s what drew me to career coaching as a specialism from the beginning. Life is far too short to not live authentically and on your own terms. I do however understand the realities of life and I won’t tell to you to ‘find your passion’. Instead, I’ll help you define your values and goals and help you find solutions to living your life authentically while still paying the bills.
All coaching sessions are offered online via Zoom. This enables you to benefit from coaching wherever you are in the world. It’s up to you if you use your web camera or not. During our sessions I’ll often share my screen as we work on different things, using various tools or working online together. If you’re not confident in using Zoom don’t worry! I’ll help you get set up and show you around. You don’t need your own Zoom account to join a Zoom meeting but setting up a free ‘Basic’ account and downloading the free Zoom app enables you to customise things the way you like.

Despite my French sounding surname (from my Canadian husband), I was born and lived in Australia before relocating to Europe many years ago. While I’m working hard to develop my French language skills, I only offer coaching in my native language, English.
